Greatness is a concept of a state of superiority affecting a person or object.  It can also be referred to individuals who possess a natural ability to be better than all others as a descriptive term most applied to a person or their work.  The concept caries the implication that the particular person, when compared to others of similar type, has clear advantage over others.  David Archuleta has that advantage.

David inspires thousand through his art and music particularly spotlighting his love for the gospel.  His singing amplifies happiness and joy and there is a magic that happens when he is on stage that vitalizes his audiences.  He sets the bar for every artist in his wake.

It seems his fan base is stronger than ever these days.  His fans constantly trend topics related to his music making sure their favorite singer feels their love.  Fame is a double edged sword as David has discussed and dealt with, but fans support is essential to the success of every singer/songwriter.  David pointed out in Tuacahn on stage how essential his fans happiness is to him and thanked all his longtime fans.  It was a sweet way of giving a shout out to those buying albums and attending shows.

Arriving on stage to a roar of applause David Archuleta possesses a reinvigorated sense of passion, a new lease on life after his mission and a great collection of new songs.  With new material inspired by reflections on showbiz industry, fame and his mission he has a lot to get off his chest.  New songs see the singer yearning for greater insight into the changing tide of his life during the last couple of years.  His powerful embrace of his faith has given him power.  New songs embody every type of emotion and vulnerability yet his roaring vocals ooze confidence and empowerment. 

David has never been the type of artist to shy away from experimenting creativity.  Only an artist as talented as David could perform a rendition of Stevie Wonder’s “Higher Ground” and actually make it sound better than the original. 

His stories behind songs, what’s it about, how he wrote it and how it was inspired was entertaining, funny and we all smiled a lot.  I love his taking his phone out to video, or Instagram a photo of us, we all ate it up. 

It was a pleasure to hear old favorites like “Crush” and “Something About Love”, but ever more to see him fully engaged with his new material.

David Archuleta Wows Safford, Arizona

                                                    

It seemed like the stars aligned for David Archuleta singer/songwriter on Wednesday and Thursday night.  As he strode on stage to perform his sold out shows at the David M. Player Center for the Arts, in Safford Arizona , he was greeted by a crowd that, from all appearances, were truly in love with the man and his music.

There was no opener for these shows, none needed, any more than were fancy lights or trendy sounds; David didn’t need any of it.

We’re not talking about polite applause but full on lusty screams.  From the start the audience was singing to his songs and he deserves every decibel of it.  Backed by his four piece band he was confident and performed his songs with aplomb.

David worked the stage with the assurance that all eyes were on him.  He strolled up and down the stage and more than once dropped to his knees with his hunker downs. David dazzled the extremely appreciative audience with songs often talking briefly between songs. 

His performance was essentially flawless.  It was a return, as if he’d never left, to a realm of old favorites, a new song of prayer all with a sleek musical detail. I love his music because each song brings a unique message that is relevant today.  His voice is timeless in a way that is so beautiful.  A sincere moment of intimate emotion occurred during the almost quiet like performance of “My Little Prayer”, it was magical.

There were people ranging from 10 to 80 and they were all on their feet dancing by the end of the shows. He shared information about the history of a couple of songs, why he wrote them, what inspired him, it was fascinating.  Fans rushed to the foot of the stage, where they jumped up and down, flailed their arms, and, of course, sang along.

Even after a few days I am still experiencing Concert Glow and feeling more engaged with life.  David’s concert reenergized my spirit and has gotten me thinking about out how to make a difference in my life.

David wowed his audience, what a tremendous concert!  It was upbeat, joyful, powerful, and brilliant with important meaningful messages.  His voice is a priceless sonic masterpiece.

It was a musical treat to all those fans that had waited for the big day with bated breath, participation in contests, stood in line at the venue with much anxiety.  Once in all that was forgotten and all they cared for was David being on stage with microphone in hand.

His tender emotion is inseparable from his craft.  He is more than just some pop artist being churned out by record labels.  His versatility will stand the test of time in this industry and there is no doubt he will continue to impress fans with his talents.  My experience with David Archuleta, in concert, is one I will cherish forever.  David is one of those artists who sound better live and anyone who has the opportunity to see him in concert should.

The excitement from David Archuleta’s fans began around the front door before the show even starts.  Once inside the packed sold out show screams appeared even before he arrived on stage.

As he ran on stage he smiled happily, looking far more dynamic than any photo and then an explosion of unforgettable music began with “The Other Side of Down”.  It was lovely to see so many people of all ages and gender in attendance.  It’s his sincere articulation of human emotion that’s attracted so many fans; earning David a burgeoning collection of admirers who feel what he feels.  Even without a new album yet David seems to have time on his side.

He seemed to explode with life and energy with each and every song.  What a truly magnificent performer.  His humor and enthusiasm seemed to bubble over as he chatted back and forth, with his ever attentive audience clinging to his every word and move.

David doesn’t seem to fully grasp the significance of his emotional impact yet.  At one point he marveled that after serving his two year mission he wasn’t sure there would be anything to come back to and not sure he wanted to continue music.  After a songwriting session in Nashville his feeling of numbness resulted into a song “Numb” revealing his renewed feeling to continue with his music.

His set list included many of his popular songs and one special Easter piece “In Christ Alone” at which towards the end his emotions came into play.  It is clear that David doesn’t just want to write songs; he is compelled to perform them.

The gifts he shares will forever be dear to us.  David is humble and down to earth.  In between songs, she shared bits of his life both on and off the stage.  David seems more comfortable on stage that he even puts the audience at ease.  He stood before us as an entertainer, singer/songwriter, a role model and a legend in the making.  

David Archuleta brings music to life which flows in your heart and enriches your soul. Music the world wants to listen to, his appeal will outlast the years.

 

David Archuleta - DAC the Halls Christmas Concerts

You don’t have to look far to find good music just head to a David Archuleta concert that is if you can get tickets.

Just ask the Davis Arts Council at the annual “DAC the Hall’s Concert”, who sold out their December 12^th matinee and evening performance in 45 minutes.

Oh what a rush that had to be but really this is no surprise to those of us who have followed David since his Idol days.  The minute you hear about any appearances your finger does the clicking on tickets, hotel reservations, flights, rental cars, shuttles and map quest road trip information.

I feel we are more efficient than the federal mail couriers, through rain, snow, sleet, storms and sold out tickets we still find a way to one of his events, and always loaded down with gifts, letters, packages and the occasional edible treats.  David has to be the most well fed and dressed artist to date.

His two year mission absence from the entertainment scene gave him the opportunity to find himself but as he has quoted “to lose himself” and focus on what was necessary for him to continue life’s journey.   He is always in the process of becoming, improving, changing and learning.

Many are inspired by him so it’s not unique to be a big fan.  But when the uniqueness sets in is in the heart, he can hold a very high place in your heart, soul and mind.  It’s a very personal thing to like him it’s a bit unfair, all of us focusing on him so much, so I cast my love lightly.

His voice is glowing along with his career, a most wonderful imaginable voice full of emotion.  Every song comes with meaning his angelic voice defines powerful. His voice is mesmerizing it’s a wonderful experience hearing him sing.

Yuletide anthems always seem to find a place in David’s  concerts and White Christmas was no exception, the number one selling song of all times, written by Irving Berlin.  It has been covered by everyone and while it is hard to live up to the inimitable Bing Crosby, David’s rendition captured a youthful, jazzy and beautiful sentiment of the song  And in doing so fully realizes the combination of joy and memory that makes Christmas what it is…….a celebration.

He gave an exquisitely polished powerful performance, he is an endangered species his voice has such engaging textures you believe every word he sings.  His voice should come with a warning.  Music is a beautiful thing, it allows you to get lost in other worlds and David took us away and we are not coming back.

David is like a bit of stardust fallen from the hand of God, love is what you give and his art of giving love is what showed with his audiences. These concerts were a rare example of paying a small amount for a million dollar show.

Recently making a comeback to pop music after his two year mission in Chile is David Archuleta a gifted singer who has been significantly missed.   Fans waited restlessly for almost four years to hear him perform, and in his own words has started a warm up concert tour. 

Many couldn’t help but wonder if a successful comeback was even possible, but after listening to his first four concerts it is apparent he hasn’t missed a beat, delivering as he only can, heartfelt music, even with a bout of flu which consisted of a cancellation half way through his second night in Utah.

David stepping into the spotlight once again is a reminder of a few artists that have taken time off, only to return to form or in some cases even better than they were before they left.  And in David’s case I believe he is better than he has ever been.   His tone is deeper, richer and more resonant than ever before and that pulls you in as a listener.

 David creates his own original interpretation of a song and creates an emotional response.  Passion and conviction is one of his most important achievements.  His songs are a portal for his personal style and individuality. 
 
David never takes himself out of the moment of his song or his audience.  A lot of singers are great musicians but they think they are the gift.  David knows, it not about him, it’s about what you do with the gift.  He gives joys to people, and that is his and our rewards.

David new album soon to be released will probably include a new co-written song “Numb” a song that is a personal introspective of his feelings today.

David’s upcoming new album has been long awaited and hopefully will give us an insight to his future direction in music and goals.

Success doesn’t happen in a single moment, the journey between inspiration and greatness is filled with a thousand small steps.  With these concerts in Idaho and Utah David has started the process of a great renewed career.

David Archuleta latest vocal performances have shown off his true talent, range and ability that goes beyond the limit and is truly unforgettable.  He has the most angelic voice you’ve ever heard with an emotive, expressive and divine tone. The richness and diversity of his voice is unmatchable.  He can teach the world to sing.

Since returning from his mission he conveys an even greater empathy of soul.  He is blessed with an incredible gift, an amazing entertainer and is always giving back.

Over the years his music has continued to be a part of my spirited journey.  Often times, the only way God could speak to my heart was through David’s music.

His voice stirs something deep in my spirit.  He has a most incredible range and power, yet can sing so softly and sweetly.  He sings with a great passion and no one can sing Be Still My Soul quite like David.  You can feel his enthusiasm even when you weren’t watching him.

His talent, his voice and his beautiful spirit are what make him a great singer.  He lives his life in testimony of God’s grace and unconditional love for him. God’s spirit shines through him while his music touches lives around him.

He has been faithful to share that God given gift with us, making him vulnerable to criticism, while sharing his own struggles.

I think his new songs are going to sound a bit different in this stage of life because of what he needs God for and what he leans on God for has changed.

I am hoping his new CD will give him the motivation to book more concerts and get back out on the road for a more regular basis, if that’s his desire.  Music will always be a huge part of who he is and may this be the start of more tours ahead.

This new CD will give him a chance to shine in front of thousands of new followers.  It is not clear how any release can live up to the hope that awaits this one, but David has promised he has been busy during the long wait crafting new songs for this new album.

The pay it forward concept involves doing something good for someone in response to a good deed done for you.  When you pay it forward, however, you don’t repay the person who did something nice for you.  Instead you do something nice for someone else. It should be done with a selfless spirit which means you help another without hoping for repayment.

 

With this concept in mind, TDAMS is encouraging fans to “pay it forward” helping students at Murray High to pursue their dreams in music.  As fans let’s honor David Archuleta for his spirit and kindness as he has inspired many people to lead their life in meaningful ways.

 

The David Archuleta Music Scholarship will be awarded to outstanding musically inclined high school students who have demonstrated an achievement of dedication, aptitude, perseverance and of course music.  Won’t you please join together to help gift these students at Murray High with a scholarship?  A small gift can make a difference and change the lives of many.

David Archuleta is teaming up with popular comedy sketch group Studio C from BYUtv to perform at RootsTech 2015. RootsTech is the largest family history conference in the world and will be happening on February 12–14, 2015.
Both talents will be launching original pieces at the RootsTech Closing Event at the Salt Palace Convention Center in Salt Lake City, Utah on February 14. David will perform 4 songs, including a new song written by himself that is sung in Spanish and Portuguese. The accompanying music video was filmed in Costa Rica in 2014 and will also have its debut appearance. What’s more, the event will feature a never-before-seen sketch by Studio C. For more information, go to RootsTech.org.
According to David, his family’s heritage and history helped craft his musical style, and being part of RootsTech gives him a chance to celebrate his family and the influence they have had on his music. “Music was always a part of my life growing up. My mother was also big on dancing and would teach my older sister and me to dance to traditional music,” he recalls.  “I can’t think about celebrating my family without thinking about celebrating music.”
The comedy sketch group Studio C from BYUtv is a household name for people of all ages across the nation. Since its launch in October 2012, its loyal fan base has helped grow the show’s online presence to more than 70 million YouTube views to date.

On November 28 & 29, 2014 David Archuleta headlined the “Celebration of Christ” an Interfaith Concert at the Capitol Theater in Salt Lake City, Utah.  Producer/Director Vic Deauvono and presented by Foundation 4Life.  Their theme this year was “Believe” to celebrate this Christmas season with respect and honor to all faiths and people. 

It was outstanding, one of the most inspirational joyful, lively, spirited holiday season musical events I’ve attended in years.  A great mix of songs with the incredible David Archuleta who makes you really feels the songs he sings.  It was a very sophisticated and inspired concert, a true testament to the faith and love each performer has for their beliefs. I truly feel blessed to have attended.

What a beautiful way to spend an evening.  This was a performance that glowed from within.  We’ve come to expect great music from David Archuleta and he did not disappoint especially with his first number The First Noel.

David Archuleta’s Glorious with One Voice Children’s Choir, Masa Fukuda director was beautifully sung with passion and Do You Hear What I Hear Rainstorm with Kevin Olusola on Cello was magnificent with David’s vocals and Taryn Elkins on piano, it was a haunting piece of musical art.

David saved his finest vocal on “Silent Night” which was vocal perfection, controlled, powerful and stunning.  He was able to silence the entire venue through the song and it garnered yet another standing ovation.

A favorite moment was “Believe” featuring David Archuleta with David Glen Hutch, Kevin Olusola, One Voice Children’s Choir, Masa Fukuda, director. Also performing was the Calvary Baptist Choir, Pastor France A. David, Salt Lake City Mass Choir, Timothy Drisdom, director.

David ended with “Believe” which showcased his trademark range and vocal prowess.  He gave me goose bumps listening to his version of this beautiful song. He has a voice of an angel.

The night was a sparkling collection of gems…..Choirs, Dancers, Musicians, Vocal soloists, Aerial Artists and diligent dedicated music directors, arrangers and choreographers.

Each song and performance reminded the audience of the true meaning of Christmas and causes you to experience the warm feeling associated with the holidays the birth and life of our Savior Jesus Christ.

Music can give us moments of elation, joy, melancholy, good vibrations and above everything a state of equilibrium that allows us to face life with optimism and a sense of confidence.

Glorious sung by David Archuleta and written by Stephanie Maybe from the new movie Meet the Mormons is a motivational song about discovering what your heart has to say and where you belong.

This song is highly inspirational and raises our spirits and pushes us to a new flight for our aims and purpose.  With his vocals David in his element elevated “Glorious” to another level with music born of dreams.  You can hear his true heart of worship in every note he sings.

This song has a beautiful melody.  The lyrics are poetic and there is such a serenity; in the song that you want to repeat it. The orchestration has a nice balance of lush instrumentation and straightforward pop. This song inspires you to fly away and achieve your goals.  It starts rather subdued and then reaches its crescendo.  A song capable of making us better human beings, this song takes your breath away.

Listening to the right kind of music can do wonders for the soul, uplift you and empower you.  There have been many times David Archuleta is able to reach that deep innermost part of our heart and tears will roll down our cheeks for the pure joy and passion in his voice.  David always emphasizes on the key words with emotion.

David can perform any style of music and sing it with a message and purpose, and make it his own.  Words can’t express how happy I am hearing David sing once again.  God is good!

David Archuleta - Working On New Music

                                                 

 

Pop music began in the 1950 but as early as the l920’s.  Pop music has been the most listened music of this generation.  However creating pop music isn’t easy and one first needs to choose a moment in one’s life that is easily relatable to many others, plus finding the right lyrics and notes become difficult to accomplish.

Songs publisher’s years ago were in charge of the music industry along with records labels.  Music publishers and records labels serve very different functions.  Publishers work with songwriters and song demos, the raw material of the music business.  They deal primarily with the acquisition and promotion of songs.  Record labels work with recording artists and their finished products and are responsible for their promotion and marketing of master recordings.

With inexpensive and professional sounding production equipment artists can get their music to listeners without a label.  Has pop culture forgotten David Archuleta? I think not, his songs have a wonderful purity of emotion comforting in their tenderness. But is David reinventing himself?

It raises the eyebrows of some fans; is Spanish/Latin music in his future? Let’s hope so as he has already announced a Spanish song that has been completed.  Could his next album be a combination of Spanish/English with some gospel or will pop still be his mainstream choice?

Will he focus on making his next album more personal, create music that communicates to other people and also fulfills him artistically.  He has matured as a person and artist and hopefully his songs will still be about feelings and issues he really cares about; those emotions and situations that are meaningful that he has experienced.

David has immense potential and talent with one of the best voices in the world a true touch of magic.  He is a consummate musician that takes his craft seriously.  He touches so many people on so many levels.

Having lots of collaboration with different artists such as Brogan Kelby, Stephanie Mabey and Dustin Christensen keeps an artist fresh and its good for artists to step out of their comfort zone.

His voice during many of the Chile performances seems to have had a great inflection and expressiveness. His is the voice that spoke to me from the beginning and speaks to me even more powerfully today.

It’s time for him to lay claim to his remarkable musical gift………………God certainly blessed our world when he gave us David Archuleta.

His music has been many fans best friend through good times and bad, and whenever a song of his comes on the troubles of everyday life never seems that bad.  His music is poetry that speaks on an individual basis.

David has enjoyed a pretty phenomenal success so far and his career is an object lesson in breaking through in the competitive music business.  His songwriting is one thing, but I believe David is clearly combining this with a keen business sense and a highly focused approach to recording.  He may fully be involved in the management of his finances and marketing his own career.

David may choose to wear a number of different hats.  David did say he’s back but different!

Words cannot even begin to describe how much I adore David Archuleta.    I’m beyond elated that he is home from his mission.  Congratulations on a job well done!

Even after two years of sacrifice devoted to God and others he continues to use his gifts of music and passion to serve his community and will continue throughout his life.  This is his calling.

He recognizes that he’s a role model to many young people, and he takes that responsibility seriously.

He advocates being healthy, strong, confident and true to yourself.  It’s all about sharing; he shows the very best of the human spirit and helps to show that putting others before you makes a better world.  He seeks to enrich the lives of others and provide inspiration to move us to action. 

He was born with a song inside him that gives you an intoxicating and overwhelming feeling of joy knowing he has touched you in a positive way. His music deeply moves our souls.

Sometimes you need to serve to be served and until that is fulfilled succeeding and growing can be difficult.

He creates moments of ponder “I needed to do something that’s not about me.  I need to do something that’s nothing about me.”

It’s about Jesus and his Glory! God has built something into David so he can make a difference ad serve others.  He was given an inherent tool to be used to serve God.  He has given him “heart” the gift of passion to touch others and share the joy of the Gospel.

Always know that you have touched us with you “heart” and our journey together continues no matter where it takes us.

David Archuleta Retrospective Series Part Twenty Five: "Nature Boy"

Pamela Pike’s Recollections

Most people know the song “Nature boy” either from Nat King Cole’s major hit a pop and jazz standard or from the movie “Moulin Rouge’.  It was written by Eden Ahbez, published in 1947, and first to be heard in 1948 in Joseph Losey’s “The boy with green hair’, starring Dean Stockwell.  The song tells a fantasy of a “strange enchanted boy who wandered very far” only to learn that “the greatest thing……was just to love and be loved in return”.

This song haunts the listener and gently massages our soul.  The genius in this song is the simplicity which David does best as he sings it so gentle and yet with understanding at such a tender age of thirteen.  David is indeed musically gifted with perfect pitch and has a great sense of composition.

Have you ever heard a song where it sounded like the performer was singing to you and you alone?  David’s voice is clear and urgent and this song is intimate and powerful. His performance is so natural and beautiful; you can really feel this song.  David is pure at heart and he has an indomitable spirit that will never die.

I listened to it and was blown away by the beauty he creates singing but my greatest moment was when I hit the repeat button, and listen to it all over again.  Perhaps one day we will hear David perform this song again and experience the musical progression from thirteen to twenty three.

David Archuleta’s music has always brought people together and allowed us to express our emotions and thoughts.  His heart and spirit found their way into our music soul. He is one of those rare musicians who understand the main essence of music; those meaningful lyrics that play an important role in choosing a song that expose the heart.

A “strange enchanted boy who wandered very far” only to learn that “the greatest thing……was just to love and be loved in return”, I wonder…..…did we just come full circle? 

As David Archuleta will be returning from his mission we are ending our Retrospective Series this month and truly hope you enjoyed our looking back over the last six years. Thank you for joining us and supporting a beautiful and talented artist.

 I wish to take this opportunity to thank Rosanne Simunovic for her invaluable support, passion, collaboration and friendship.  I was truly honored and blessed working with her on David’s Retrospective Series.  She welcomed the idea with a warm spirit and I have learned a great deal from her she has been a reliable source for intellectual and creative stimulations.  She is a great admirer of everything beautiful and simple, especially her love for music and a passionate advocate for the artists that perform.

Rosanne Simunovic Recollections

Ah, yes - Nature Boy.  Could any song be more perfect, more beautiful, more intuitive, more everything for David's voice and demeanor? 

And, given the lyrics, it is the perfect song to be featured as the final chapter in the David Archuleta Retrospective journey:

"There was a boy
A very STRANGE ENCHANTED boy.
They say he wandered very far, very far,
Over land and sea.
A little SHY
And SAD of eye,
But very wise, VERY WISE was he...

Until one day,
ONE LUCKY day he passed my way,
And while we talked of many things
Fools and kings,
This he said to me:
"The greatest thing
YOU'LL ever learn
Is just to love
And be loved
In return."

Such beautiful, heartfelt words sung by such a beautiful and heartfelt young artist.  The expressive quality in his voice and the manner in which he captures and then communicates the lyrics are pure magic.  The honesty that he delivers to this - and to all of his performances - is the stuff of magic and passion and love.

For two years, David has removed himself from the public eye in order to follow his calling as a Mormon Missionary. Although away from many of his fans, they were right there by his side in spirit, cheering him along the way.

Performances such as the one you are now hearing in "Nature Boy" are what sets David apart from the rest of the pack. He always chooses songs that hold deep meaning for him, that move his mind and soul.  Although he is a very sophisticated and refined artist, he never allows the technicalities behind his performance to inhibit his authentic expressive vocal quality and demeanor.  He is a vocal narrator - every song is a soliloquy. His thoughts and his dreams are easily shared with us through his music and that is the ultimate gift an artist can give to his listeners. 

David personifies all the qualities of a "Nature Boy" - he embraces the world around him with love and goodwill, spreading his wings to explore all that life has to offer.

I feel so privileged to have been part of this remarkable journey with co-author, Pamela Pike, and you - the fans.

On A Personal Note

I would like to wholeheartedly thank Pamela Pike for inviting me to co-author this series for all of you.  I feel privileged and honoured to partake in this project - it has been a real blessing in my life for many reasons.

First of all, I have come to know Pamela as a friend and colleague and have benefited as a writer by watching her disciplined and cohesive writing skills.  No one is more  dedicated to her craft than Pamela and, when time was flying by, she would always gently nudge me to "get moving".  Ha!  She is truly the best of the best!

Second of all, I have strengthened my relationship with David's music.  Pamela was the mega researcher and she found gems performed by David that I did not know existed.

Third, I loved interacting with the fabulous David Archuleta fans. You people are the best - you put a smile on my face and a song in my heart with every comment and tweet. Thank you so much.

Fourth, I was able to celebrate David's music on a monthly basis, for his voice and his presence is always justifiable cause for celebration.  What a terrific way to begin the first Friday of every month!

So thank you Pamela Pike for this wonderful opportunity and, David, thank you for the gift of YOU, Nature Boy!

Pamela Pike’s Recollections

“I’ll Be” is a song written and sung by American singer Edwin McCain.  The song was released in January 1998 as the first single from his second album, Misguided Roses.

It peaked at #5 on the Billboard Hot 100 and became a Top 10 hit. 

 Over the years is has become a popular wedding song, but Edwin McCain revealed in an interview the track was not intended as a love song but more of a kind of a Hail Mary prayer for him at a time when he was struggling with some personal problems.

 

This is a perfect song for David Archuleta to sing as he gives it a soulful, emotional, enduring heartfelt interpretation.  David is not just a singer/songwriter, he’s a storyteller and his music appeals to us all with a down to earth charm.

 

David is super talented and doesn’t use stage antics to bring his audience into the music; he uses the music to bring into his audience.  He also has this great ability to put emotions into words that can reach out far beyond a single performance.  He keeps music simple and is able to wrap us around his finger.  His attitude of performing and his willingness to embrace and connect to his fans is second to none.

 

No matter how many times you hear David sing “I’ll Be” he is so good he raises goose bumps.  David opens his heart to the audience obviously loving this song as much as his fans.

 David’s acoustical emotion packed performance gives you a musical euphoria with his amazing vocals. He presents his fans with what they want, his powerful voice and contrasting emotion instinctively draws in his audience.  What he does best and what he appears to especially enjoy the most is expressing heartfelt passion through his songs.

 David never over sings and delivers vocals to suite the song, he speaks straight from his heart; this gift explains why his music will endure and why his performances are so easy to hear.

David’s one of a kind, a rare and engaging talent with an impressive style and imagination. My heart is bursting with anticipation and joy to see what he brings to music on his return.

As always, I have relished the opportunity to read Pamela's background summary of the songs featured during this Retrospective Series.

However, her informative synopsis behind the birth of "I'll Be" really intrigued and resonated with me. Sometimes, when one listens to a song, one has to wonder: "What was the driving force behind the creation of this composition". So, thank you, Pamela, for sharing this information with us. 

Who has not struggled with personal problems? It's something that we all have to live with and try to overcome in our day-to-day lives. 

David understands this and uses his vocal power, sensitivity and musicality to create a strong, enduring bond between himself and his adoring fans.

This song has never sounded more believable, more passionate and sincere;  David possesses all these characteristics in his daily life and these human elements are seamlessly carried over to his musical life. 

His voice is a force - the purity, the shape of his phrases, the technical brilliance are second to none. None!  And, when you add the human element, the spirituality that forms the root of every song David sings, then one is left with a flawless, heart-stopping musical experience.

David was only 16-years-old when he performed this song. Most 16-year-old male vocalists are still trying to find their voices. However, in David's case, it almost appears as if THE VOICE found him. For many, perhaps, can technically sing as well as David, but rarely can a singer move and stir souls like David is so capable of doing.

THE VOICE is a gift that David has cherished, nurtured and nourished with absolute reverence and respect. And the music world is a much better place because of David's devotion to his music.
