David Archuleta - My Review of Chords of Strength

No one has a better smile than David Archuleta!

Happy Memorial Day to Everyone!

Well, I am off to a friend's party today in Manhattan Beach, California and then I will be leaving straight from there to LAX for a flight to JFK. A friend will be meeting me at LAX and we are off to the Book Signing in New Jersey at Bookends and then on to Manhattan in New York at Borders.

Over the last several months we both have been anxious for news on David's book, single, album, appearances and eager to see him and congratulate him on many of his current projects. I finished reading his book last week and still haven't quite found the appropriate emotional noteworty comment. Amazing, heartfelt, sensitive, innocent, honest, humble, none of these seem to work anymore.

From his second page he captivated my respect and full attention:

So I made the decison right there in my room that I would make a New Year's resolution to write in my journal at least once a week from then on, even though I thought there ws no way I'd be able to keep it going because I hated writing, which is why I couldn't keep it up with that old journal in the first place. Then I thought, I get interviewed all the time and several of my incredibly amazing fans have made very detailed scrapbooks about my life. Did I want to rely on everyone else to tell my story of how I started, where I came from and who I am? People were keeping track of me, but no one really had my own story. No one knew what was going on in my mind before people knew my name. I was thinking, man, when I have my kids in the future, I don't want them to rely on what everyone else thought about me. While I hope that people think good things about me and that I left a good name for my family an myself, I want them to hear my story from me in my own words. No one can see your life the way you see it. Not only did I realize at that point the importance of writing in my journal, but also, like I did with singing, how important it is to share it with the most important people in my life: my family, friends and my fans.

A beautiful book from a beautiful young man with a great deal of feelings and an enormous amount of heart and through past experience a great deal of self-awarness. I recommend this book for all ages and genders. It's an honest look at how the love of family, friends and faith with true determination against many obstacles, you can find a way to your dreams.

David Archuleta - Our Door to Heaven

David Archuleta - Our Door to Heaven

 – Published May 25, 2010 by:

Pamela Pike

His Spiritual Influence

It was written that stars are the windows to Heaven. If that is true then David Archuleta is the door that opens Heaven.

David Archuleta is special in many ways, but I suspect only a few can really feel who he is and how he brings so many people together in faith. His talent has brought him to the forefront of the world and his faith has kept him on target with all the responsibility that it brings. Family has inspired him, friends have encouraged him, fans have supported him, life's experiences challenged him, and his faith has always sustained him.

I am not sure what to expect from David's book, well written, well thought out and enlightened on many experiences through his journey in life. One important virtue he has is his insight of self-awareness of who he is and how he measure goodness, faith and truth with the ability to understand that service to others brings happiness, wealth and success.

David has discovered that a spiritual presence in his life has much to do with an inner heart and discipline and understanding that "there is a law", irrevocably decreed in heaven before the foundation of this world upon which all blessings are predicated.

A recent interview with, David Burger - The Salt Lake City Tribune stated that David said he spent the most time on the spiritual parts of the book, and said writing and distributing books is like his mission. "It's very
much like a missionary experience for me, "he said.

It's good that Ellen is spreading the word David around a little more.  Perhaps she should invite him back on her show again!  Now that would really be a prize for her viewers!

David Archuleta's Meeting with 19 Entertainment

There is a great deal of spectulation today about David's meeting with 19 Entertainment.  101 reasons he could be there for a meeting and many of them are good reasons.  Many feel David needs new management and hopes with this album he is promoted more seriously than in the past.  More CD's available in stores and the oportunity to see and hear him on many talk shows would be beneficial to any artist's career.

Contracts are very detailed and that's why there are lawyers to to advise and help decide what would be be in a person's best interest.  Not knowing what arrangement Jive Records has specifically with David, I have heard rumors that he was signed to a three CD contract.  If that is true, he might be talking about his present opportunities or discussing a new contract.  That may be too early to discuss as we still need to promote his single and album when it's released.

Another appearance on American Idol would be wildly exciting, another singing performance perhaps?  What ever the reason for the meeting I am confident David will come out on top!  But it's still fun to guess!

From Archuleta Fanscene
David Archuleta had a meeting with 19 Entertainment

David Archuleta had a meeting yesterday with 19 Entertainment and he seems really pumped up about how well the meeting went. Gina Orr is the Vice President of Publicity at 19 Entertainment. So what does this mean? What’s going down?

19 Entertainment:

19 Entertainment Ltd, a wholly owned subsidiary of CKX, Inc.(NASDAQ: CKXE), is engaged in the ownership, development and commercial utilization of entertainment content. 19 Entertainment represents stars including David and Victoria Beckham, Carrie Underwood, Andy Murray, Daughtry, Annie Lennox, Will Young, Cathy Dennis, The Spice Girls and others. 19 Entertainment is the producer / co-producer of several internationally successful TV formats including “American Idol”, “Little Britain USA” and “So You Think You Can Dance”. 19 Recordings is a major producer of music in North America with over 100 million units sold in the last ten years by stars including Adam Lambert, Kelly Clarkson, David Cook, Jordin Sparks, Carrie Underwood, Daughtry, Kris Allen, [Allison Iraheta] and others.

That’s what it says when you go to 19 Entertainment’s website: http://www.19entertainment.com/. You’ll notice that David Archuleta is not on that list. So why was he meeting with them? Is David looking for new management? Is he making another appearance on American Idol? What are your guesses?

David Archuleta - Music and Soul

 – Published May 10, 2010 by:
Pamela Pike

It has often been said that music is the food of soul. Music is used to express feelings when words fail. Love music to love life and you not only change your mood while listening to good music but you can also change the world with meaningful songs.

David Archuleta encompasses all that's beautiful about music, he is music. On or off stage David is humble, earthy and good natured, someone who is genuinely embarrassed by the adulation of strangers and seems most comfortable within his circle of family and friends. His talent is big but his heart is bigger.

David Archuleta Could Cover Sinatra Songs - but Idol's 9 Top 5??

Harry Connick Jr. will mentor the American Idol 9 Top 5 this week as they tackle the songs of Frank Sinatra.  Harry Connick will be he first Idol mentor to arrange the songs and write the orchstrations for the contestants.

Perhaps it's just me but Frank Sinatra songs for this group of Idols seems all wrong.  I can easily see David Archuleta singing almost any song from the list provided as his voice is so velvet he can cover ballads and make them work for him.  What can we expect from Connick for each of these idols.  For what it's worth here are my picks.

Lee - I've Got The World On A String
Casey - Street of Dreams
Aaron - That's All
Michael  One For My Baby
Crystal - You Do Something To Me

It will be interesting to see which songs are picked and how the arrangements will be changed to update and accommodate their styles.  What would you choose for each of the Top 5?

Just for the record I would love to hear how David Archuleta would cover Young At Heart!  It is one of my favorite Sinatra songs!

All or Nothing At All

Blue Skies
Come Dance with Me

Chart Watch Extra:  Americn Idol's - Million-Sellers

David Archuleta, the Season 7 runner-up, was just 17 in November 2008 when "Crush" topped the million mark in paid downloads. That made him the youngest Idol contestant to top 1 million. (Jordin Sparks had already turned 18 by the time "Tattoo" became her first million-seller in January 2008.) But Sparks is the youngest contestant to top the 2 million mark. She first achieved that milestone in June 2008 with "No Air."

8. David Archuleta, "Crush," 1,918,000. Dave Hodges, who co-wrote Clarkson's "Because Of You," also co-wrote this smash. This was the first single from Archuleta's eponymous debut album. Hot 100 peak: #2.

He asks the question, but most guys still grow until their 21!  Perhaps David, you are not measuring correctly because from where I stand you are as tall as tall can be!!!

Saturday May 1st

New vlog from David!  Happy David!  Still in Los Angeles enjoying his free weekend hangin with a buddy.  More writitng next week and he is looking forward to Cinco de Mayo!  Is there anyway we can get him to give us just a little clue as to when his single will be out?  Please, please Mr. Achuleta can we have just a little clue!!!

Weekly Favorite

This picture of David brings back such tender moments from American Idol Season 7.  When he sang 'Imagine' on the Top 20 we all glued ourselves to the television in awe, and when Simon Cowell asked David to sing 'Imagine' on Season 9 we jumped for joy.  This picture shows a more mature David and his latest rendition was brilliant.

John Lennon wrote 'Imagine' but David Archuleta was born to sing it!!!!
